We have a very low turnover at St. Timothy's. Our three dedicated teachers have taught as a team for years. These teachers were selected for their kind, nurturing approach, their creativity, their experiences with their own children at St. Tim's, and their knowledge of child development.
Helen Wooldridge, Director
Helen has earned a BA in Languages and Child Psychology and has an additional 30 units in Early Childhood Education. She began teaching at St. Timothy’s Preschool in 1977. Her two children were students at St. Tim's.
"I began my teaching career giving ballet lessons to neighborhood children and continued into high school. I love children. They delight me with their fresh, innocent and honest perspective on life. They make me laugh. They give me hope. We learn from each other every day." Helen Wooldridge
A parent wrote to me, "As Director of the school, you are thorough and efficient, yet as a teacher, you are enthusiastic, insightful and, above all, caring. Thank you to you and your talented staff for making my children's experience such a positive one." Maria H.
Cathy Westgate, Teacher
Cathy taught two-year-olds at a local preschool before coming to St. Timothy's. Her own children have also been in the program. She has 18 units in early childhood Education and began teaching at St. Timothy's in 1990.
"After having children of my own, I was interested in teaching little ones. I went back to school and got 18 units in Early Childhood Education. My children came to St. Tim's and had a wonderful first school experience. I started working at St. Timothy's in 1990, with experience teaching children 2,3,4 and 5 years of age. Working with children has been very rewarding. I am glad I chose this profession." Cathy Westgate
Dana O'Day, Teacher
Dana taught at an extended day care facility and at a Montessori school before coming to St. Timothy's Preschool. She has 18 units in early childhood education. Both of her children attended the Preschool.
"I love St. Timothy's Preschool because it is a safe, caring and welcoming environment. Both of my children attended school here. They felt important and loved. I felt the teachers took a personal interest in each individual child. As a teacher now, I can pass all those things on to my students." Dana O'Day
