Unique Learning Experiences "I am proud of how hard you [former St. Tim's student] work at school, especially in science. You make very scientific observations!" — Mrs. Milos, Teacher at Landels Elementary School Science Experts We invite science specialists to supplement the learning experience. We have had parents and neighbors as well as professionals join us to share their jobs or interests. We've had nurses, dentists, a NASA engineer, and a father who competed in kite flying competitions. Here are some examples below: NASA We learned what it's like to live in space, what astronauts wear and about NASA's Space Program. Beekeeper We learned about a beekeeper's job, and how he uses his tools to help bees and to harvest honey. We saw a portion of a bee colony, including the queen bee, busily working in a glass case. We heard and examined bees in hand-held, sealed, clear boxes. Happy Birds We watched the antics of beautiful Rain Forest parrots. We learned how the birds eat, play and benefit the forest. Lizard Lady We saw a variety of different kinds of reptiles, including skinks, a tortoise, and several snakes. We learned about their food, where they live and how they survive in the wild.
