  About Us

"St. Tim's has made a very positive difference in my son's life (mine, too). I appreciate your care of him and partnership with me as a parent." — Jill B., parent

St. Timothy's Preschool
has been serving children and families in the Mountain View, Los Altos, and Sunnyvale communities since 1961. We foster a strong sense of community, where parents feel comfortable staying for a few minutes after class has started, talking with other parents and watching children play. Because our school is small, teachers know parents and children well, and parents get to know each other. It's a great place for building relationships. Parents can connect for play dates, join family activities at St. Timothy's Church, and meet parents from the neighborhood. Lifetime friendships start here.

Kindergarten Readiness
is woven into all aspects of our play-based curriculum. Children are well prepared socially and academically, and transition seamlessly into local kindergarten programs. Kindergarten readiness is reinforced through play with child selected materials, exploration at the Art Table and in Circle Time with games, music and stories. When children leave our 4-year-old classes, they can print their names, know their letter sounds, have made personal books, and helped write words for our Word Wall. They are self-motivated and self-directed. They have learned patience, how to be a good friend, and how to resolve conflicts with kindness, fairness and self-expression.
